Great Yarmouth's Town Hall is licensed to hold civil ceremonies six days a week (Monday to Saturday) and offers wedding receptions with flexible room hire options to accommodate anything from smaller gatherings of around 40 guests right up to 200 guests.

Civil Ceremonies

You have the choice of three beautifully decorated rooms licensed for civil ceremonies. Each is unique with high vaulted ceilings and seating to suit varying number of guests.
Rambouillet Room
The graceful Rambouillet Room seats up to 26 guests. Named after Great Yarmouth's twin town, this lovely room has a stunning fireplace and full views over the former merchant houses along the historic quayside.
Supper Room
Our tranquil Supper Room situated at the top of the Town Hall's grand curving staircase is ideal for civil ceremonies with between 30 and 66 guests. The room offers a light and airy space for couples to celebrate the start of their new life together.
Assembly Room
If you're looking for an impressive room, simply oozing with grandeur and opulence for your ceremony, our superbly spacious Assembly Room is the perfect choice! This versatile space can be adapted and set up according to your guest numbers and personal specification, seating up to 200 people. The room stretches the full length of the Town Hall offering views over South Quay and offers a purely spectacular setting for couples to enter wedded bliss. Continue your wedding celebrations in this glorious room with your wedding breakfast and evening reception too!

Make an Entrance!
Arrive in style through the red brick and sandstone entrance leading into a spacious foyer with its magnificent oak staircase and spectacular stained-glass window backdrop.
The Foyer
The Town Hall Foyer is the perfect spot for your guests to enjoy a glass of fizz and a canape or two before or after the ceremony. Then head off to the grand staircase providing a fabulous backdrop for some stunning wedding photos!
Assembly Room for your reception or full wedding day
Celebrate your reception or entire wedding day with us in the glorious Assembly Room with its versatile space which can be adapted and set up for both smaller gatherings right up to 200 guests. The oversized picture windows, vaulted ceiling and breath-taking grandeur will create an everlasting impression of your special day.
Eat, drink and be merry

We know that every couple is unique, and your special day should reflect this which means you have the freedom to create your perfect wedding...
Eat. As the Town Hall does not have an in-house caterer, you have the freedom to bring on board one of your own choosing*. Whether you opt for the traditional three course wedding breakfast, a buffet banquet or something completely different it's entirely up to you! Your caterer will have use of our fully equipped kitchen and all crockery, cutlery, and glassware for a small additional charge.
For your peace of mind, we work with several preferred local caterers who have experience in providing for functions at the Town Hall venue.
Drink. Licensed bar hire facilities are available, offering a range of beers, spirits, champagne and soft drinks. The bar operator can also work with you for your reception or after-ceremony drinks. The bar is licensed until midnight.
Be Merry. The Town Hall is licensed to have live and recorded music played throughout. There are facilities for playing recorded music and our dedicated events team are happy to help you plan your own entertainment.
*Catering companies should have public liability insurance to cover up to £5 million and a minimum of a 4-star Food Hygiene rating.

Your own dedicated wedding co-ordinator
We understand how important it is to make sure that your special day goes smoothly and without a hitch. You will have your own dedicated and experienced wedding co-ordinator to guide you right from the early stages of planning through to the actual day itself. Not only will our co-ordinator be on hand to liaise with any of your wedding service providers, but they will also be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions to make your day as perfect as it possibly can be!
Making memories
You'll want to capture the magic of your wedding day on camera, and we have the perfect setting. Our stunning oak staircase which sweeps up from the foyer makes for a fabulous backdrop for your photographs no matter what the weather. And, if the weather is kind, simply hop over to the romantic Venetian Waterways or head to the golden sands of Great Yarmouth's celebrated beach for some stunning shots!
Accessibility
Although our ceremony rooms and banqueting hall are located on the first floor of the venue, we have a convenient lift for wheelchair users, buggies and guests who are less mobile. There is also an accessible toilet situated just off the main foyer.
Car Parking
To make for an easy and hassle-free arrival for your guests, Great Yarmouth's Town Hall is surrounded by car parks.

If you choose to celebrate your 'Big Day' at Great Yarmouth Town Hall, you'll have the flexibility of:
- holding your ceremony only in one of our licensed rooms.
- having your reception only in the magnificent Assembly Room.

Wedding Reception Room Hire Only
Our beautifully appointed Assembly Room can accommodate anything from 45 up to 200 guests and is the ultimate venue to celebrate your nuptials in style. Room hire fees are from 3pm to midnight and include a fully staffed, licensed bar.
Included in the fee is availability of the room for 4 hours the day before to give you the luxury of coming in to set up or check on the progress of your suppliers.

Hire charge includes:
- Room hire for up to 2 hours and 15 minutes (including 1 hour before the time of your ceremony) which will give you around 40 minutes for photographs after the ceremony.
- Ivory silk flower decorations and pedestals.
- Bluetooth speaker to connect to your phone/tablet for your ceremony music.
- Room set up to your specifications.
- 30 minutes rehearsal.
- Services of our wedding co-ordinator.
- Arrangements can be made for additional time to decorate the room for a drinks reception after the ceremony - POA.
Wedding Ceremony Hire when booked with the Assembly Room for your Reception
If you choose to celebrate your entire wedding day with us, pay a reduced room hire rate for the ceremony room when you book the Assembly Room for your afternoon and evening reception.

In addition t thes charges, there will be a fee for the registrar which is payable to Norfolk County Council in accordance with their terms and conditions.

A 20% deposit is payable when confirming your booking with the balance of hire due no later that 14 days before your wedding. Payment plans can be arranged on request.

Kitchen Hire: £2 per person charge for use of our kitchen facilities and crockery, cutlery and glassware (Minimum £40 maximum £300)
If you have over 100 guests attending, there will be a charge of £150 for additional staff
